Catie & Ashley – Windows on the River

Ashley and Catie’s Wedding #marrycateandashley July 1, 2022 Our wedding was a day full of joy, laughter, and happy tears.  Though a sudden downpour may have washed out our sparkler sendoff, the shared love and joy in the room outshone any measly fireworks.

The wedding party was wonderful, and we were so thankful that they would support us through an amazing (and chaotic!) day.  Amber and Amanda tamed our wild bustles (with help from Ilana and Elysha!), and Roger and Jack brought down the house with their speeches.  Christine and Willow were on makeup and flower patrol, and Rick was the dream all bridesmen aspire to be.

As officiant, Danny Kelly brought grace and love to the ceremony, along with our readers Bruce, Zach, and Eric.  Special thank you to Connor and Ian for their expert flower throwing.  Owen helped us keep our rings safe and was ring bearer of the year!  (Not to mention their parents who generously donated their children for the event!)  Our gorgeous ceremony arch was provided by Elena’s Flowers, who also created our bouquets and glorious centerpieces.

Our wonderful wedding coordinator, April of Believeland Weddings, made magic out of our hot mess of wedding ideas.  Windows on the River was the perfect place for our Friday night event, and the staff and catering team made everything run so smoothly.  Our guests raved about the food with special love going to the vegetarian option.

Our wonderful photographers and videographers took a dreary, humid afternoon and made taking pictures a delight. Special thank you much be given to the kind strangers who let Catie stand on their boat pretending to be a ship captain (in a wedding gown). The reception was a delight thanks to the extraordinary DJ Kevin from Midnight Music.  Everyone killed it on the dance floor, particularly Eric and Jan

Then there were the true stars of the show…the desserts.  Wildflour Bakery created our cake, which was as delicious as it was beautiful.  Our hundreds of homemade cookies were made with love by Jennifer, Pat, Cherie, Grandma Linda, Aunt Kathy, Aunt MJ, Aunt Eileen, and most of all Cookie Queen, Maria. Each cookie was tastier than the last, and we cannot thank you enough. Truly, why would you even want to eat a peach when you could instead eat its more beautiful and delicious cookie counterpart?

Saving the best for last, thank you to our loving parents for loving us fiercely, sharing in our joy, and having our back ever step of the way.  We would not be here without you.

Beautiful photos of an extremely beautiful event. When I got home and people asked about the wedding all I could say was that the room was filled with joy and love. Sending hugs and wishing you happiness forever.
